Tunisians just decided that enough is enough after 24 years of being under a dictatorial regiment.
I was born and grew up until last week to know one and only president. I grew up knowing that I can talk about anything in Tunisia except politics. It makes my heart melt down whenever I think about it..Tunisia is really one of the most beautiful countries in the world and its people are so nice and talented and they didn't deserve to be ruled by such a corrupted government based on force and terror !!
It all started when a Tunisian young guy , a street vendor, burnt himself in front of a government building to express his anger against his situation. His anger was driven by the feeling that he lost his dignity and he can't take it anymore; he was humiliated by an police officer because they forbade him from street vending and he lost therefore his only source of income. Loosing his work wasn't as important for him as loosing his dignity in his own country so he decided to make an end to his life in a way that everyone will remember.
And he got what he wanted; after this accident.protests all over Tunisia started and people knew that it is now or never; either they make an end for this dictatorship or it will never happen.
For 3 weeks, Tunisians all over the country didn't stop their fight for freedom and 64 people died. And finally the dream came true; on 14th of January 2011 the president of Tunisia left the country and was obliged to resign from his position giving the word for the people ; the great people of that small country called Tunisia ... Long live Tunisia !! God bless you and bless your great people who knew that freedom is something worth fighting and dying for..
