My Winter Scent of Choice :)

In general, I'm a very fresh-scented kind of person - my favourite scent being Gucci's Envy Me. However, with the winter, I wanted something less fresh but sweeter and heavier, and I pulled out a perfume I'd got in May as a birthday gift from my boyfriend's parents - I'd loved it but I didn't feel it was quite right for the warm weather. Now, I've been wearing it every single day religiously, and without any diminishing love for it!

Paco Rabanne Lady Million

Top Notes:
Neroli, bitter orange, raspberry.

Middle Notes:
Orange flower absolute, arabian jasmine absolute.

Base Notes:
Honey, patchouli.

First of all, the packaging is to die for. It is a lot bigger than it has to be, but the 30mL bottle is small enough to fit in your fist, and pulling it out of my bag is definitely one of the delights of this little gem! It's such a bold yet classy look - I love it! My only concern (here comes to eco-warrior) - what a waste once it's done! :(

The scent is one that is very heavy, but not sickly sweet, musky nor spicey - it's just a really heavy fruity scent. I think it's one of those scents that few people would find offensive or unlikeable, because as a person who generally likes fresh scents, this is still a do-able winter smell.

Aside from the scent, my favourite part about this perfume is that it literally lasts throughout the day. I do carry it just in case, but the most I've sprayed on is twice in one day. I imagine it's one that you don't notice yourself too much! Sometimes when I'm getting cozy warm, I can catch a whiff of it wafting from my neck and scarf area :)

It's definitely one worth a sniff, especially for those like me who are quite new to perfumes, not sure what you quite like, what's appropriate etc., etc., Personally, this is undoubtedly my winter HG perfume, and it has joined the ranks of "perfumes I always want a bottle of" with my Gucci Envy Me :)

At the moment you can get this from Debenham's with 20% off and free shipping with the code SHBC :)

Have you tried this perfume?
What's your HG winter scent?

My Spring Scent - Cacharel Amor Amor :)

One of my go-to spring scents is this perfume, Amor Amor by Cacharel. I know close to 0 about perfumes - until a few months ago, I didn't realise that there was a difference between summer and winter perfumes, and day and night perfumes.. lol, whoops.

Anyway, one of my best friends is a LOT more savvy and got me this for my birthday (which is in May, so it was the perfect season - hence, more savvy than me LOL) and it was love at first.. sniff? :P

To me, the smell is very floral but fresh and kind of like a rose scent. I know absolutely nothing about tones, so I checked on the Debenham's website and this is what they describe it as:

"..a sparkling fruity floral blend that celebrates love, newly found or rediscovered, passionate. Impulsive. Electric. Notes include mandarin, blackcurrant, melati blossom, Lily of the valley, white musk and grey amber."

HAHAHA no rose. Anyway, to a perfume noob like me, this is like jibberish, but I absolutely love it as a spring/summer time smell because it's floral but not too sweet and cloggy - I find it just right for a spring scent. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you're on the look out for something floral but fresh :)

The packaging is also super cute. Mine is 30mL and the size of a MAC lipstick - so it's perfect for on the go, and even if it doesn't have a lid, I've never had an issue with it spraying it's that sturdy. You can't see it from the pic but behind the little tube is a rose print as well :) CUUUUUTE.

What are your go-to Spring/Summer scents? :)

I love Gucci Envy Me all year round, but I'm also on the look out for a non-floral fresh scent, and so far have my eyes on Davidoff Cool Water Woman - any other suggestions? :)

Review - Ted Baker Girliest Convenience Vanity Set

Since Ted Baker is a really popular brand, and there are loads of other gift sets that include products from this vanity set, I thought I'd do a review :).. especially for those wondering what to get people (or themselves) for Christmas! This set is like.. the almighty Ted Baker gift set that is available at Boots, and at the moment it's included in the 3 for 2 Christmas deal. But there are sets down to £10 with mini-sizes that would be perfect for stocking-fillers or friends :) The video on it will be attached at the end.

The products included are as follows:
  • Heavenly Cleansing Body Wash 300ml
    • Lathers so nicely, a lot goes a long way, leaves you smelling gorge :)
  • Divine Relaxing Bath Soak 300ml
    • Doesn't bubble up too great, you need to use a lot, packaging isn't easy to get a lot out of.
  • Heavenly Rich Body Souffle 250ml
    • Light moisturisation, soaks into skin, love the smell!
  • Divine Moisturising Body Lotion 300ml
    • Light moisturisation, awkward amount comes out with one pump (too much for just hands, not enough for body), not rich enough for coarse areas.
  • Heavenly Fragrance Body Spray 150ml
  • Divine Fragranced Body Spray 150ml
    • Both Body Sprays have a light amount of fragrance, not as fragranced as perfumes so kind of dies away unless topping up either the Souffle or the Lotion with respective smells.
  • Divine Scented Candle
    • Never used, doesn't really smell like the other Divine items :S
Scents: The Divine & Heavenly are distinctions of not only the colour of the case (dark and light respectively), but also the scent. Divine is more of a sugary sweet smell, while Heavenly is more of a fresh smell with a bit of a lemon-y tint. My preference is definitely the Heavenly :)

Packaging: The only complaint about the packaging would be the Body Lotion & Bath Soak as mentioned above. Otherwise, the design is suitable for the products, and aesthetically, they are so pretty, I love swirly patterns :)

The Vanity: I LOVE IT! The pattern is obviously a personal taste thing, but I personally find it very pretty, neutral, and appropriate for all age groups. There is a little pouch inside as well as rubber bands to keep items in place (see video), and these confuse me because they're not the right size for the products that come with the gift set.. so I'm guessing it's meant for use with other things :) Can't wait to travel with this one day!

Price: £40 - pricey, but there are other little gift sets that include mini versions of some of these products for as little as £10. These will give you the chance to try them out before you get full sizes/get them as gifts/stocking-fillers for other people :)

Rebuy? Well, not the whole set lol but I would rebuy the Body Wash for sure, and the other things don't jump off the page but I do like them, so I may! :)

I've also tried the Invigorating Sugar Scrub and that is my favourite exfoliator of all time! Definitely recommend :) The smell is from the Divine range.

What are your favourite 3 for 2's at Boots or Ted Baker products? :) Has anyone tried the make-up from them?

P.S. Thank you to my darling boyfriend from getting me this set :) LOOOOOVE <3

Makeup Packaging by Anna Sui:

I love Anna Sui's packaging with the black rose~ It's very unique and cute at the same time. I actually don't own any makeup or skincare products from Anna Sui but here are some I want to try out sometime:
* Liquid Foundation
* Powder
* Loose Eyeshadow powder

Do you guys have any other suggestions for me to try?? Leave a comment!

Favourite Perfume:
My favourite perfume from Anna Sui is her limited edition Dolly Girl Bonjour L'Amour Eau de Toilette Spray released in 2007. I got one from a friend of mine and here it is!

The smell is very citrusy and summery and I love it! The only bad thing about it is that it does not last very long so you would have to re-apply.

I also love flight of fancy and would love to try it sometime! I love the packaging as usual :)
