Mentions of the Week #5

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate! The boy and I are cooped up in our flat doing work.. nothing special about today, lame :(

Anyway, haven't done one of these in ages! I kinda lost track of the days when holidays started lol. But it's back! :)

Jewelry
Next Men's Golden Sunglasses - £13

I have such a large head and such a small nose that most sunglasses don't fit me at all - in fact, these aren't perfect either but I figured they were as close as they were going to get, and I genuinely do love them! :) I really wanted green ones hehe.

Eyes
NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Taiga - £23.50

A bit obvious I suppose, but I've been wearing the green colour all over my lid and because it's sheer, it's really great for day time. I love it, it's a quick morning fix! :)

Lips
I don't have any! :( I've been really struggling finding the perfect nude and perfect pink lips because my skin is so tan now - so I am on the major lookout for new lip products that I'm hoping to get for my 21st. Wishlist will be up soon :)

Face
NARS Orgasm Blush - £20.50

I really do like this blush, it gives a really natural finish to my skin! That being said, unless its really nicely placed it can look like a bad flush, so I've been relearning and watching shedloads of blush videos from the likes of TiffanyD (my favourite!) and Tanya Burr.

Buy
MAC Studio Moisture Tint in Medium Dark - £20

I got this in a blogsale so I only paid half price for it, but it's something that I've been trying out this week. So far it's average, not amazing, but I hope to have a review of it soon :) This comes from a person that's never really used a tinted moisturizer so I think it's fair enough that I'm like, "WHERE'S THE COLOUR?!" every morning..

Want

Soap&Glory Big Make-Up Bag - £10.21

I've been going on a bit of a make-up bag hunt since a late night Twitter conversation with 25FLONDON, and this is one of the bags that I'm thinking I might get myself with my Boots points. The travel make-up bag I have now is kinda too big, and completely squishes my brushes so this one looks long enough to fix that (even if I'm looking into getting travel brushes :P), and it's cute! This is another one I have my eyes on:

MAC SoftSac Small Makeup Bag - £16

I kind of want something small and sleek for my bag - I have a black Dior imitation which is doing fine right now, so I probably wont get this for a while but.. it's fun to dream :)

What has been your stand-out product this week? :) What are you up to for Easter Sunday?

Mentions of the Week #4

This week was the first week of my Spring break, and I did go shopping once - but am still trying to save on the money front as during February and March I've gone absolutely mad! I've been wearing make-up almost everyday regardless of staying in and working on essays most of the day, just because I find it just a fun thing to do in the mornings :) Here are my weekly mentions, with a few honorary mentions thrown in :)!

Jewelry
 Claire's Piercing Solution - £5

Now I know this isn't jewelry perse, but this week my second piercing has been throbbing and bleeding, and this here Claire's Ear Piercing Solution has always been my trusty go-to for when my piercings ache. My piercings are supersensitive, and my body hates piercings (I've had my bellybutton reject twice!) so you know this stuff is good if it works on me :) I'd actually thrown my second bottle away cuz I thought my piercing had calmed down, but when this happened this week I instantly went out to get it :) Definitely recommend!

Eyes
 Sleek Sunset Palette - £6.50

I imagine that the Sunset palette probably isn't the most popular out of the Sleek palettes, but it was my first ever Sleek palette and has been ignored for far too long after I bought my Storm palette. I turned to it the other day when I was looking at palettes to get for Thanie and I's swap, and decided to give it a shot. I've been using a lot of the pink gold and the copper :)

HONORARY MENTION:
28 Neutral Palette - Price Varies on eBay
I did my first proper eye tutorial this week that I'm ridiculously proud of and it's made me start using the Neutral Palette because it does bring out the creative side in me, but keeping it in the wearable neutral arena :)

Lips
MAC Creme Cup Lipstick - £13.50

I wouldn't be surprised if I've included it in the past, just a nice pale baby pink for me :) I'm lacking in the mid-tone pink department, so I've been turning to this baby in the meantime.

Face
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation - £4.99 & Barbara Daly Oil Free Foundation - £6.99

I finished my Revlon Colourstay yesterday, so I've been turning to my spring/summer mix of these 2 foundations. It gives the fullest and most natural coverage ever, although I must say sometimes it's hard to mix the exact amount to get the perfect shade, but I always get close enough :P I would recommend Barbara Daly's foundation on its own if you can find the colour - I couldn't, sadly :(

Buy
Mulberry Bayswater Imitation - £12

Yes, okay, it's lacking in the tree logo department but I've been dreaming about a Bayswater since I got my first Mulberry. I'm not a fan of the Alexa at all - I've always been a Bayswater/Daria person. I didn't want to go with the camel because everyone has camel bags these days, and I didn't want black because that's the colour I want when I start a proper job. Chocolate brown is casual enough and suited for the 99% cold climate here. Just thought I could do with a make-shift one until I can afford the real one.. although I can see myself getting something else from them before I can afford the Bayswater! :)

HONORARY MENTION
St. Moriz Mousse - £3
I did my first fake tan this week! I found it very easy to do, and I found that one layer of this stuff brings me back to my usual skintone, and two layers gives me a bit of a tan. Really like it, and will definitely be reapplying when I feel the need :)

Want
NARS Orgasm or Deep Throat Blush - £20.50
MAC Girl About Town Lipstick - £13.50

Nope, my wants haven't changed for a couple of weeks now.. I think it's a sign :)

HONORARY MENTION:
A drugstore haul!
Now obviously with the Project Pan going on, I will never 'waste' my allowances on a drugstore product especially because the reason why I started it in the first place was to stop splurging on whim products that I buy in the drugstore. However, I've been getting very jealous of drugstore product posts these days, as I know there are few that are really good, and am thinking of treating myself to one in May, as one of my 3 exceptions because it's my birthday month :)

What have you been liking this week guys? :)

Mentions of the Week #3

Hey all, if you didn't notice I did skip last week's Mentions of the Week, but it's back again! :)

Jewelry
Tiffany&Co. Double Heart Tag Pendant Necklace

I didn't have anything specific this week so thought I'd introduce you to something I wear practically everyday :) From the lovely boyfriend for Christmas - I think it was to make up for the 6 months he studied abroad in Hong Kong!

Eyes
MAC E/S in Naked Lunch - £9.50

I know I already did a post on it, but I couldn't justify not including this baby - I've worn it practically every day! See my post on it here.

Lips
Eyeko Fat Balm in Frosting & Toffee - £6.50, or £3 for other colours on my charity blogsale :)

Been loving these 2 colours as lipsticks, but Frosting works well as a blush too.

Face
MAC Blush in Style - £17

Was my go-to blush in the summer, and it's coming back to give me some warmth on my face for the spring :)

*Just realised I put this on my first Mentions of the Week - LOL sorry guys, but I genuinely have been wearing this a lot this week :P*

Buy(s)
Primark Zebra Jumper - £10

Been wanting a nice comfy jumper (not hoodie!) for home, and found this in Primark. It's really nice for wearing in but it's also nice paired with black jeans, grey uggs and a black jacket - looks pretty badass ;P.

Rimmel Polishes

 See post here :)

Want
NARS Blush in Orgasm - £20.50

Not a massive craving this week, as I've primarily been into renewing my spring closet, but this is something that I've been thinking about a lot.

Just want to see what all the fuss is about, and would like a nice pink blush - I only own 1! Crossed fingers that it'll be in stock for my ASOS Groupon voucher! :)

What have you been loving/wanting this week?

Mentions of the Week #2

This week hasn't been too interesting in terms of cosmetics, I'm not sure why! I haven't been too experimental, I haven't done a lot of shopping and whatnot. But I did dye my hair last night, which didn't go according to plan (or box) at ALL, so that should be an interesting post.. lol, until then here are my weekly mentions:

Accessories:
Bird Pattern Scarf from Vero Moda - £14

Received courtesy of ShopALike - See post here :) Been wearing this a lot, it's light, cozy and spices up any solid tops.

Eye Product:
 28 Neutral Palette - 2nd Row, 2nd Column - bought from Ebay

At one point this colour was too light as a highlight for me, but I've been going back to it and have been loving it for a defining highlight on the brows :)

Lip Product:
Lipice Original Lipbalm - Not sure if available in stores yet.

I got this from a giveaway from Daisyloves01 and I love the vanilla smell and the thickness of it. Great sweeter alternative to my Burt's Bees :)

Face Product:
L: Hard Candy Blush in Bombshell; R: MAC MSF in Light Flush (LE)

I couldn't really put one without the other because it's the combo that I've been wearing everyday. I put Bombshell on the caved-in side of my cheek, and Light Flush on the rest.

I got Bombshell from Mandy in a swap, and Light Flush from Sinead's blogsale :) A good UK dupe for the Hard Candy blush is the Accessorize blush in the same name (and pretty much same packaging lol).

Buy:
MAC Brush Cleaner - £8.50

I bought this after realising that deep cleaning them every few days may be damaging for them. So I invested in one of these for spotcleaning :) Will do a post in the near future!

Party Animal X Silver Studs - £4.99

I've been wanting a nice silver stud for my second piercing. Was a bit hesitant to get a boring ball or a clear gem, so I was ecstatic when I found this! Super cute and full of character :)

Want:
NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Tokyo - £23.50

I swatched some of their eyeshadows in Space NK yesterday and loved them! So this one, for its colour and its name (:P) is my next want :)

Does anyone know if the NARS cream eyeshadows or even the powder eyeshadows are any good?

What have you found to deserve a mention this week? :)
